In 1978 Honda released this model as the second approach to reclaim the “Flagship Number 1” title, which had been snatched away by the Kawasaki ZⅠ. Protruding out on both sides under the tank like a partitioning screen, the straight-six-cylinder engine overwhelms the beholder with its amazing beauty.
Both, front and rear suspension, wheels, brakes, and numerous other parts were insufficient for its heavy body. Therefore this motorcycle’s popularity did not last long due to the low grade of perfection, yet the silky, revving engine and its beautiful exhaust sound give it a unique character, leaving an intense impression. After a series of great improvements such as wheels, brakes, suspension, carburetor, exhaust, rear set, engine, etc., we turned it into a magnificent motorcycle.
Compared with its six-cylinder rival Z1300, our CBX1000’s lightness and excellent, almost straight-four-like handling, transform it into a true Honda flagship model. Among all Honda commercial motorcycles, there is none as distinctive, beautiful, unique and fun to ride like the CBX1000. Even considering engine-durability-problems and the scarcity of spare parts, it is truly a motorcycle worth owning.
