In 1985, at the height of the race replica boom, Yamaha decided to go against the spirit of the time, when launching the single-cylinder SRX600. Although positioned as the successor to the rather classic yet dull SR400, a torquey 608cc four-valve SOHC single-cylinder engine and the compact chassis with its rigid double-cradle steel frame made the sporty SRX600 a completely different beast, with little to no relation to its predecessor.
Enticed by the huge potential BITO R&D began with the development of our all the more sporty and powerful JB-POWER SRX600 Complete Machine. We installed a big bore piston kit, FCR carburetor, and thin-walled ultra-light titanium exhaust system to improve weight and engine performance. JB MAGTAN wheels additionally reduce weight and the riding position was optimized by changing the rear set and seat shape.
Although the JB special tuned SRX has the vigorous potential to shoot forward like an arrow, regardless of the speed, 18inch MAGTAN wheels and the powerful JB brake system provide outstanding control and safety even when pushing the limits. It will obediently follow the riders’ directions, creating a sense of unity, like man and machine have become one.
