Development & Concept

The GSX-R750 was introduced in 1985 to be the fastest bike on the circuit and the big-bore flagship model GSX-R1100 followed in 1986, boldly proclaiming the “Highest Speeds on Public Roads”. Upholding that promise, its vigorous 130PS, 1052cc power plant propelled the GSX-R1100 to a maximum speed of 265km/h. Matching even the fastest TT-F1 race-machines, the GSX-R1100 inevitably became world-renowned.

While other companies were switching to water cooling, Suzuki vehemently kept on improving their oil-cooled engines year by year, like they wanted to prove to the world that the GSX-R1100 is the fastest. However, Suzuki’s enormous passion for oil cooling turned out to be in vain, as their engine was too powerful and only very few riders in even fewer locations were able to fully utilize the GSX-R1100 enormous potential, making it surprisingly short-lived.

Where others eschew the uncontrollable beast BITO R&D sees an opportunity, fascinated by its engine characteristics and precise, race-inspired handling achieved through an entirely new lightweight yet rigid aluminum frame design we began developing a complete machine. The extra torque from installing a JB bore-up piston kit improved the ease of riding at low speeds considerably. Upgrading to JB MAGTAN wheels and full titanium exhaust reduced the weight and in combination with a revised rear set position evolved the JB-POWER GSX-R1100 into an easy to handle yet all-the-more potent “Pure Sports” machine.
